Making a booking

You can confirm availability by phone, e-mail, or by filling in the contact form accessed from the “Contact & Directions” page.

The easiest way to make a firm booking is by phone, but you can also reserve a room online via the “Online Booking" page.

We require a non refundable deposit of £20 per person. If you book more than four weeks in advance this can be paid by cheque or secured with a credit or debit card. Bookings made less than four weeks prior to arrival must be secured with a credit or debit card. Online bookings can only be made using a Debit or Credit debit card. We accept Visa Debit/ Credit – Mastercard Debit/Credit – American Express, China Union and JCB.

PLEASE NOTE: Deposits for bookings starting after 1st October 2016 will be charged to your card when the booking is taken.

Arrival and departure

The earliest check-in time is generally 3.00pm (4.30pm on Saturday) unless by prior arrangement, and the latest is 7.00pm. If you will be arriving later, please inform by email or telephone so we can make arrangements to welcome you. Check-out by 10 am.

Car parking

We have off-road parking for one car per room. If you arrive independently for a double room you may have to leave one car in the nearside layby (20 metres).

Children

We are pleased to welcome children over the age of eight years.

Pets

Sorry, we do not allow pets at Wheelgate apart from the Hideaway (single and The Little Byre (double) room which are detached from the main house. We do have our own pets. Two golden retrievers (Jeeves and Siri) and a cat (Tommy). These will not be in the presence of guests unless requested.

Payment

To settle your bill on arrival we are pleased to accept cash or a debit and credit cards. We accept Visa Debit, Visa Credit, Mastercard Debit, Mastercard Credit – American Express, China Union and JCB.

Non UK & Eurpean cards will be subject to a 2% surcharge.

Smoking

Wheelgate is strictly non-smoking. We reserve the right to charge for and extra night in the event of smoke residue as the room will not be servicable for 24 hours.

WASHING MACHINE & TUMBLE DRYER

Clothes washing facilities are availble in the Utility Room.  Just ask Sandy or Stuart for timimgs etc. Full wash & dry £8.00

Room damage / exceptional cleaning

We reserve the right to make a charge for damage to the room and/or exceptional cleaning.

Returns

If garments or items are left behind after check-out we will post back subject to postage and packaging costs plus £10.00

Our cancellation policy

In the event of cancellation with more than seven days’ notice, the deposit will be charged for rooms/nights that we are not able to re-let.

We charge the full room rate for any days of a reservation cancelled with less than seven days’ notice and not re-let. A no show counts as cancellation.

If you have secured your booking with a debit or credit card, the appropriate cancellation payment will be charged to your card.
Please note that we will only attempt to re-let rooms according to our normal policy (details on the “Online Booking" page).

General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR)

On the 25th May 2018 the rules relating to General Data Protection Regulations changes. It is therefore necessary for Wheelgate Guest House to advise you of the nature of these rules and obtain your written consent to the information we hold about you and what we do with it. You will be given details of this. Please read the notifications carefully and if appropriate sign to confirm you agree to Wheelgate Guest House policy on this matter. Data Protection principles

The GDPR sets out the principles which data controllers and processors must comply with when processing personal data. These principles form the core of the obligations of the date controller and will usually form the basis of any claim that a data controller has not complied with its statutory duties.

Lawfulness, fairness and transparency. Personal data must be processed lawfully, fairly and in a transparent manner in relation to the data subject.

Purpose imitation. Personal data must be collected only for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes. It must not be further processed in any manner incompatible with those purposes.

Data minimisation. Personal data must be adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary in relation to the purposes for which it is processed.

Accuracy. Personal data must be accurate and, where necessary, kept up to date. Every reasonable step must be taken to ensure that data which is inaccurate, having regard to the purposes for which it is processed, is erased or rectified without delay.

Storage limitation. Personal data must not be kept in a form which permits identification of data subjects for longer than is necessary for the purposes for which the data is processed.

Integrity and confidentiality. Personal data must be processed in a manner that ensures its appropriate security.

Accountability. The date controller is responsible for, and must be able to demonstrate, compliance with the other data protection principles.

Who we are

At Wheelgate Guest House we do all we can to respect your right to privacy and your personal information. We are a guest house and this notice sets out a summary of what we do with your information in order to run our business and provide our customers with products and services.

The information we use and where we get it from:
We only collect information provided by you: Name, address, telephone number, email address, details of the services supplied or enquired about, amount quoted / payable / paid / and method, delivery details.

This information will be used to:
1. Provide you with the information you require.
2. Process your reservation and supply the services required.
3. Assist you should any after sale matter arise e.g. relying on a guarantee.
4. To provide you with details of the transaction e.g. for a further bookings or insurance purposes.
5. To comply with laws and regulations that apply to Wheelgate Guest House e.g. dealing with HMRC and F.C.A. (and this includes giving details to our Accountants).

Sharing your information

This information will not be given to any third party for marketing purposes nor will we contact you directly when carrying out a marketing campaign (other than by Facebook / Twitter should you sign up for these).

Storage of information

All information given is stored by us either by way of hand-written documentation or on a computerised accounts system. This is only accessible by designated Wheelgate Guest House employees or professional third parties acting on our behalf e.g. Accountants.

Security

We will keep your personal data secure and only store it for as long as necessary and only for the purpose of providing services under your contract or to fulfil legal/ statutory ob1igalions. Once personal data is no longer needed (or you request us to) we will destroy it securely as soon as is practical.
